Mental Health First Aider (25.1.2022)

Mental Health First Aider – It is important to recognise that our industry is under intense pressure at the moment, with the introducing of fire safety & building safety legislation, reforms and licensing coming out as well as the pandemic causing distress to many people. This can have an impact on our colleagues and team, from balancing home-life pressures to dealing with stressful incidents at the office.

Our Managing Director, Benjamin Hume, has qualified recently as a Mental Health First Aider in order to recognise & spot the signs or symptoms of a colleague or team member who might be in a mental health crisis. Just like a first aider to deal with a physical injury, which patches them up and signposts them to either their GP, walk-in centre or A&E at worst, a mental health first aider does the same but for mental health injuries.

Here at Evolve Block & Estate Management, we prioritise the welfare and wellbeing of our colleagues and teams, in order to foster a supportive environment for the company and our valued clients.

It is OK to not be OK – our approach to mental health awareness spreads outside of our office walls and we are often called upon to help signpost a struggling client or owner to the right support service. Block & Estate management is not just about fixing a building, it is about managing people and understanding when people need help & support.
